4 Things To Keep In Mind When Designing A Custom T-Shirt For Your Company

Posted on

Are you planning the design for custom T-shirts for your business? If so and it is the first attempt, you may be wondering how to make sure it comes out looking great. One thing you may want to do is come up with more than one design. Then you can gather some opinions and make a final decision. The following are a few points that can help get your creative juices going.

Logo

Most companies want their company logos printed if they have one. If you do not have a logo and it is not in your immediate plans, your font selection will be crucial. When choosing where to place a logo, consider the fact that logos on T-shirts can serve as advertisements for your business. The center front of the shirt is a good placement, and the back of the shirt is also a good location if you want a large, noticeable logo. If you want a more conservative logo placement, opt to put a small logo in the breast area of your T-shirts.

Font

If you do not have a logo or will not be using it on your T-shirts, ensure that you choose a font that is easy to read. Aim not to use too many words. This means that you may need to keep it short and simple. If there is a logo being used, the placement of the font needs to complement the logo so that neither is too distracting. For example, if you opt for the small logo in the breast area of your shirts, it might be distracting for you to put words in the chest area. The back of the shirt would be a better place to put the lettering portion of your design.

Quality

Whether you are planning to use the custom T-shirts in-house or giving them as gifts, the quality of the shirts is important as well as the ink used. Poor quality shirts may wear out quicker or get holes. Poor quality ink will likely fade or even peel. These shirts will be a representation of your business. Go for high-quality.

Colors

Ensure that the color of your shirts and the color of the font you select complement each other. The font should contrast with the color of the shirt to ensure that it can be easily read. If the colors do not contrast, the font may not show up as well. A custom T-shirt company can review your design, font, and colors and make recommendations to ensure that your shirts stand out from your competition.
